This page will explain (briefly) some of the many features available for web pages, although it will not explain all, these features and the most common. Please use the menu below to jump to feature you would like to know about. Sorry this site is under construction so all features have not yet been added. Can be customized to suit the customer requests. These are done using a series of frames that play in a continuos loop, and are optimized and put in the GIF format to keep the kilobyte's (KB) low.

Active X [TOP]

A loosely defined set of technologies developed by Microsoft. ActiveX is an outgrowth of two other Microsoft technologies called OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) and COM (Component Object Model). As a moniker, ActiveX can be very confusing because it applies to a whole set of COM-based technologies. Most people, however, think only of ActiveX controls, which represent a specific way of implementing ActiveX technologies.

AVI movies [TOP]
 Audio Video Interleaved; a file format for digital video and audio under Microsoft Windows. This file format is cross-platform compatible, allowing .AVI video files to be played under other operating systems.

Acrobat Reader          [TOP]
This is an essential tool for universal document exchange. You can use Acrobat to publish virtually any document in Portable Document Format (PDF). Documents in PDF preserve the exact look and content of the originals, complete with fonts and graphics, and they can be distributed by e-mail or stored on the World Wide Web, an intranet, a file system, or a CD-ROM for other users to view on Microsoft ® Windows ® , Mac OS, and UNIX ® platforms. To use the file convert to > Acrobat Reader format, the full version is required, in most case's just the Reader is installed. If you do not have Acrobat Reader installed on your machine the example will not work.

CGI: - Common Gateway Interface           [TOP]
On the World Wide Web, the protocol that describes the standard method of communications between a Web sever and an external software application ( program). CGI is used by the network as a means of handling the data from one computer to another.

CSS - Cascading Style Sheets           [TOP]

Internal:CSS
This is simply a way for web designers to assign several properties at once to all the elements on your page marked with a popular tag. This makes things easy when changes are made to a whole document or even to an entire site. You can set line spacing, background color, text size, font color and many other features. This page is using a CSS to format the text to all one style.

External: CSS
This is the same formating used except all the atributes to be formatted in the document come from an external (.css) file. This is particulary usefu when you are tring to keep the kilobytes low in your pages.

HTML:- Hypertext Markup Language [TOP]
The universal codes used for the World Wide Web to instruct a web browser how a document is to be managed and displayed, and in particular, where the hypertext links will take the user.

Image maps [TOP]
Image maps are sophisticated hyperlinks that are connected not by words or icons, but by coordinates which are stored in a file whose extension is (.Map) in other words an image which can have many links. This is useful for a range of different purpose's, e.g. a map of Australia see example.

The most widely used images on the Internet are Gif's and jpeg, this is due to the sizes of the file

Interactive Web Pages           [TOP]
Interactive pages are very new to the web and will become very popular for on-line learning. It use's many scripts for its various function, and layers for its drag and drop features. Due to the different positioning of layers used in different browses there are two different examples. Please choose the browser you are using.

Ipix 360° Viewer  
Ipix is a new way in which pictures can be viewed on the Internet. You can Get a 360° view of the interior of your bout , car, home or anything you can think of. It is getting very popular for real-estate owners to let potential buyers see their home interior in a 360° view. This is the use of a small script to run a program inside of your web browser.
Java Scripts          [TOP]

 Java scripts have hundred's of use's, in this site alone there maybe 20 or 30 scripts used. A rollover image use's Java script, redirecting a user on a particular browser type, cookies and many other functions use javascript . A movie format which can be played on either a Macintosh or PC's
Rollover Images          [TOP]
 This is when you put the cursor over an object and the object changes,The perfect use of a rollover is a button, where the viewer knows exactly when the link is active for He/She to click on. All the example images to the right are rollover images.

Shockwave          [TOP]
Shockwave Player is the invisible, underlying technology that allows you to experience engaging, interactive content on thousands of Web sites.

Shockwave displays destination Web content such as high-performance multiuser games, interactive product simulations, online entertainment, and training applications. Through Xtras, Shockwave Player is also extensible to play back custom-built applications. A Flash Player is automatically included with any download of the Shockwave Player. There are many differnt types of sound files on the Internet, some being .wav, .mp3, .mid, .voc, .vox, .pat, .asf and many more. The exampl I have here are .mid sound files.
SVG: Scalable Vector Graphics           [TOP]
 The Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) format is set to revolutionize the way graphics look on the Web. What is it? Quite simply, SVG is an open-standard vector graphics language that lets you design Web pages with high-resolution graphics that can contain sophisticated elements, such as gradients, animation, and filter effects, using plain text commands. SVG promises to bring precision and quality to Web graphics and design, delivering the layout capabilities, choice of fonts, interactivity, and colors that make a site shine. Once a domain name is obtained space on a server is required to upload the files to. There are plenty of web hosting Places to get quotes from on the net. Please click on the example for a list of hosting sites.

XML          [TOP]  
XML is a markup language for documents containing structured information.

Structured information contains both content (words, pictures, etc.) and some indication of what role that content plays (for example, content in a section heading has a different meaning from content in a footnote, which means something different than content in a figure caption or content in a database table, etc.). Almost all documents have some structure.

A markup language is a mechanism to identify structures in a document. The XML specification defines a standard way to add markup to documents. A good example is SVG
